Pasangkayu, Sulbarkita.com — Sacrificial cattle purchased by President Joko Widodo from the West Rea Hamlet, Patampanua Village, Matakali District, Polman, will be slaughtered in Pasangkayu. The Governor of West Sulawesi, Ali Baal Masdar handed over the 1.4-ton cow to the Regent of Pasangkayu, Agus Ambo Djiwa.
"This is intended for all Pasangkayu community members to be able to enjoy sacrificial meat on Eid al-Adha," Ali Baal said during the handover process.
Jokowi's sacrificial cow was given the name Puang Tedong by Rahman Dakka, a farmer who had been caring for him. Jokowi bought it for Rp. 89 million.
In 2019, Jokowi also bought a cow named Mike Tyson at Polewali Mandar for Rp. 85 million and was slaughtered in Mamuju, West Sulawesi, Sunday, August 11, 2019.
Aside from handing over Jokowi's sacrificial cattle, Ali Baal also provided capital assistance for 398 micro and small businesses (MSMEs) and 221 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) whose economic impact was due to Covid-19 in Pasangkayu amounting to Rp 856.5 million. "We also provide religious assistance at the Nurul Madani Mosque, Pasangkayu for Rp. 1,113,000,000, "said Ali Baal.
