Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- The flood disaster that hit several areas in Mamuju Regency received serious attention from the Mamuju Regent, Habsi Wahid.

Despite coinciding with the schedule of meetings with the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (MENPAN RB), Syafruddin Kambo along with all Regents in West Sulawesi in Jakarta, Habsi immediately ordered the Social Service, Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and Public Works Agency (PU) to immediately take tactical steps.

Areas affected by flooding also occur in several sub-districts. The events are almost comprehensive and not only occur in the center of the Mamuju government. From the BPBD Service report, flooding occurred due to very high water discharge and meeting sea tides with overflowing rivers due to heavy rain that hit Mamuju, February 28, 2019.

"Almost certainly this is purely a natural disaster. Therefore, I ask all people to remain vigilant and remain patient. We are all getting a test, said the Regional Secretary of Mamuju, Suaib Kamba who directs the monitoring of the location of the flood.

Suaib explained, the regional government team consisting of Local Government Organizations (OPD) assisted by sub-district officials and the village head had been asked to collect data on flood victims.

"Furthermore, assistance will be provided in accordance with the needs of the affected people, we will gather this evening for immediate action," he said.

The head of the Kalukku sub-district, Syarifuddin Calang said, there were several points in the Kalukku region which were severely affected by the flood. Even two schools were asked to be temporarily closed because of damage, namely Kampung Baru Elementary School and Kalukku 2 Middle School.

In addition, Syarifuddin also requested that the Tampa Padang Health Center open a special post to handle flood victims. From the temporary data, it was reported that as many as 60 people had been examined at the emergency health post due to injuries.

"At present our health center is also affected, so it is totally paralyzed. By that, we opened this post for handling especially for flood victims, "said the Head of the Tampa Padang Community Health Center, Subhan Dg. Masimpa.
