West Sulawesi Police Chief Replaced, Police Headquarters: Not As A Result Of The Mobile Brigade

Jakarta, Sulbarkita.com - The National Police Headquarters has made a massive mutation in its internal organization. In the Police Telegram Letter numbered ST / 385 / II / Kep / 2020 which was published on Monday 3 February 2019, one of the names listed was the Head of West Sulawesi Regional Police Brigadier General Baharuddin Djafar.

"Appointed in a new position as Maluku Regional Police Chief," said the letter. Baharuddin was replaced by Brigadier General Eko Budi Sampurno who was previously a General Planning and Budget Staff (Srena Polri).

The Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brig. Gen. Argo Yuwono, confirmed the replacement of the West Sulawesi Police Chief. But he denied the change was related to clashes involving dozens of members of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) in Polman. Clashes between Brimob members in Polman had taken the public's attention nationally. Because the video was shot upwards by dozens of Brimob members in full uniform in the crowd.

This case began when Company Commander (Danki) Brimob III Battalion A Polman, Ipda Ojan Prabowo, together with his family visited the Salu Paja'an bathing resort, Batetangnga Village, Polewali Mandar Regency, Monday, January 20, 2020.

He did not accept being asked twice for Rp 5,000 each. So it got into a fight and ended in a fight with the window guard. A few moments later, members of Battalion A Company 3 Battalion 3 Company West Sulawesi Police came to the scene and opened fire.

This case was later handled by the West Sulawesi Regional Police Professional and Security Sector (Propam). Thirteen Brimob members were given detention sanctions and had an ethics trial.
