Home Renovation Fund 2020 Rp 4.6 Trillion, West Sulawesi Can Ration 3,500 houses

Jakarta, Sulbarkita.com- The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing or PUPR provides a budget for a housing quality improvement program to reduce the number of uninhabitable houses (RTLH) and the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) or known as house renovation.

As reported by Tempo.co, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono explained that the BSPS 2020 budget was allocated Rp.4.6 trillion to improve quality in 449 districts / cities and to build new ones in 151 districts / cities. "This is a form of government attention to low-income people to live in decent homes, as well as to open jobs as builders for home rehabilitation. I hope this program can improve the quality of life of beneficiaries by having more decent, healthier and more comfortable homes," said Basuki in his official statement, Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

He added that this BSPS was carried out using the Cash Intensive Work (PKT) method. The aim is to maintain people's purchasing power and reduce unemployment.

BSPS program in West Sulawesi
In 2020, one of the BSPS programs is distributed in West Sulawesi Province. A press release from the Ministry of PUPR was reported from Setgab.go.id that Sulbar received BSPS quota or 3,500 houses which were divided into 2 stages, namely 2,500 units in Phase 1 and 1,000 units in second phase.

"The total budget for the first phase of the BSPS Program in West Sulawesi is IDR 43.75 billion and for the second phase IDR 17.5 billion for 1,000 housing units," wrote the Ministry of PUPR.

According to the Ministry of PUPR, in the first phase, BSB of West Sulawesi Province was spread in a number of locations such as Mamuju Regency with 350 units, Mamasa 300 units, Mamuju Tengah 500 units, Pasangkayu 450 units, Polewali Mandar 300 units, and Majene 600 units.

"At present there are a number of activities that have been going on in the field such as the socialization of the implementation of the BSPS program in Mamuju and Majene Districts. While for other districts such as Pasangkayu, Mamuju Tengah, Mamasa, and Polewali Mandar Districts are in the preparation phase of physical work."
