Majene, Sulbarkita.com -- Non-TPI Class II Immigration Office Polewali Mandar established and confirmed the Foreign People's Monitoring Team (Timpora) in four Sub-Districts in Majene Regency, including, Timpora, Banggae, Pamboang, Sendana and Malunda Districts.
Timpora is one of the efforts in supervising the activities of foreign nationals in West Sulawesi Province. The inauguration of the Timpora was held at Dapur Mandar Cafe and Resto, Pamboang District, Majene Regency, West Sulawesi, Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
According to the Head of the Immigration Division of the West Sulawesi Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Silvester Profit Silvester, the activities of Foreign Citizens in West Sulawesi today are still fairly conducive and safe. But he said strict supervision needs to be done.
"The West Sulawesi region, the activities of foreigners so far from 2018 are safe and conducive," he said after the Timpora coordination meeting, Majene Regency and the formation of the District Timpora.
Silvester said that there were 6 foreigners in Majene. 1 person comes from Germany and 6 from America. "The foreigners are envoys for social and cultural activities," he said.
For all foreigners in the West Sulawesi region, the number reached 54 people. 32 of them are Foreign Workers (TKA) from China who work in the Belang-Belang Steam Power Plant (PLTU), Kalukku District, Mamuju Regency.
Silvester said Timpora was formed because it was a law order. "Timpora is formed at the central, provincial, district and sub-district levels," he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights had confirmed Timpora at Majene Regency and other districts in West Sulawesi. As for the sub-district level, this is the first time in West Sulawesi.
Meanwhile, Deputy Regent Majene, Lukman appreciated the formation of the Timpora. According to him, Timpora can be used as an initial step in detecting foreigners early in the Majene region.
"This program will help Imingrasi to report whether foreigners are legal or illegal," he said. The existence of Timpora is formed legally so that it has permanent legal force in the early action of various problems.
