Majene, Sulbarkita.com - The Chancellor of the University of West Sulawesi (Unsulbar) Akhsan Djalaluddin said he was trying to get the salaries of the lecturers and staff immediately disbursed. He also hopes that they will be patient to wait for the budget disbursement process. "I estimate the next 3 to 4 days the budget has been disbursed," said Akhsan, yesterday.

The statement was revealed by Akhsan after hundreds of non-PNS Unsulbar lecturers and staff went on strike from Thursday 13 September 2018. The protest was carried out because they were not paid for the last 2 months.

According to Akhsan, the salary of his subordinates was hampered due to financial revisions made by the Ministry of Finance against the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristek DIKTI). It is only known that Unsulbar's budget comes from the agency led by M. Nasir. "We are waiting for approval of the budget revision from the two Ministries," he said.

Umar Abdurrahman, Secretary General of the Cross-Employee Association (ILP) Unsulbar said the number of non-civil servant staff and striking lecturers were 500 people. With this amount, it is estimated that the activeness of the state campus in West Sulawesi will be paralyzed. "Conditions like this have already taken place in Unsulbar," he said.

Umar said that the reason for the campus matter about the budget revision from the Ministry of Research and Technology and the Ministry of Finance could be accepted by lecturers and staff. But they were finally restless because the policy had not yet finished until the last two months. "The information is increasingly unclear."

According to Umar, actually the campus and the Ministry of Research and Technology understand that salaries are the right of lecturers and staff. They should not ignore this because it involves the basic needs of staff and lecturers. "If there is no solution until next week, we will increase the action more preventively," he said.
