Majene, Sulbarkita.com -- The plan of the Majene Regency Government to build a Bayu Power Plant (PLTB) continues to roll. The power plant with a capacity of 65 Mega Watts is planned to be built in Banggae and Pamboang Subdistricts.

Department of Environment and Hygiene (DLHK) Majene held an assessment commission meeting of the RKL-RPL Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) document held at the Sandeq Room Hotel, Villa Bogor Majene on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.

In his remarks, Deputy Regent Majene Lukman Nurman appreciated the steps being taken to build a power plant that uses wind energy. He said he never thought that the PLTB would be built in Majene.

"We are grateful that the Engeri Bayu company chose Majene. Do not let only because services that are not optimal make investors run away from Majene," Lukman said.

Lukman hoped that all parties would submit suggestions and opinions so that the plan would not adversely affect the environment in the future. "If this PLTB has been built in Majene, it will certainly contribute in terms of energy, economy and tourism," he said.

Head of DLHK Majene, Sudirman said, the UKL-UPL AMDAL and other environmental documents are instruments for prevention of environmental pollution, in addition to other instruments such as SEA, spatial planning, environmental quality standards, environment-based budgets and environment-based legislation.

"Assessment of AMDAL Documents will provide meaningful input, so that the document can be a guide or guideline for those responsible for businesses or activities, in carrying out environmental management," said Sudirman.

The plan to build a PLTB in Majene was initiated by PT. Majene Energi Bayu Consultant and will be designed by PT. Hatfield Indonesia Consultants. In its construction, PT Majene Energy Bayu needs 50 hectares of land to build 15 turbines, including land for connecting lines. The construction of PLTB has an investment value of US $ 120 million or almost Rp 1.7 trillion.

The PLTB development areas, namely Bonde Village, North Bonde, Bababulo and Buttu Pamboang in Pamboang District, are about 15 kilometers from the center of the Majene Regency administration. While other areas are Palipi Soreang Village, Pambo'borang, Totoli and Rangas Village in Banggae District are still in the central government area.

For information, Bayu Power Plant (PLTB) is also called a wind power plant which is one of the environmentally friendly renewable energy power plants. This type of power plant operates using a propeller.
