Muhammad Afzal Saat Menyerahkan Bantuan PIP di Mamuju/Sulbarkita.com-Eri

Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- Member of Commission II, Republic of Indonesia People's Representative Council (DPR RI), Muhammad Afzal Mahfuz channeled the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) assistance to hundreds of students in West Sulawesi Province.

Through representatives of each school receiving assistance, Afzal symbolically handed over the assistance carried out at the d’Maleo Mamuju Ball Room Hotel, Yos Sudarso Street, Binangan Sub-District, Mamuju District, on Sunday, April 7, 2019.

According to Afzal, the program was disbursed by the Central Government with a Decree (SK) on its name as a representative of West Sulawesi in the DPR. "That's the Central Government program that I strive for in Jakarta for West Sulawesi," he told the media crew after the handover of aid.

Legislative member who is a General Retirement Interim (PAW). Salim admitted that he had pleaded with the government so that the proposed program was granted. "I also asked Edi Baskoro Yudhoyono to facilitate us, this is assistance from the Democratic Faction," he said.

Afzal continued, students who received the assistance had their own criteria. "Namely outstanding students and underprivileged students. But then the selection is carried out by the Central Government," he said.

Afzal also stressed that he would maintain the program as long as he served as a legislator representing West Sulawesi. "Hopefully I will still be given the trust to represent West Sulawesi again, so that I can still continue to fight for more students in Sulbar to be touched on this program," he said.

Meanwhile, the recipient of the assistance was Deputy Principal of the Nergeri 1 Kalukku Middle School, Rifai, hoping that the program could continue to help students in Mamuju. Rifai also thanked Afzal for distributing assistance to six of his students.

"This is extraordinary done by Afzal, hopefully this will be an example for West Sulawesi representatives in the DPR," he said after receiving assistance.

The PIP program is the second time distributed by Afzal for students in West Sulawesi. Previously, he distributed the assistance to 800 students. But on the help of this second wave, he only distributed assistance to 300 students.

"My first aid was proposed to the government as many as 1,200, but it was realized as much as 800. Now I submit 2,200, and that is granted as many as 300," Afzal said.
