Majene, Sulbarkita.com — A wave of refugees victims of the earthquake and tsunami Donggala, Central Sulawesi, still crowded the main road in West Sulawesi. The stopover post on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Labuang Village, East Banggae District, has recorded thousands of refugees passing by.
Saleh, 24, one of the volunteers at the post said the conditions of the refugees were very concerning. Some do not wear clothes, fast because they have no money, and never change clothes. "There are also babies who don't wear clothes because their parents don't have clothes," he said.
The post was initiated by Volunteer 86 along with doctor Rahkmat, Director of the Majene Regional General Hospital, giving them free food and medical examinations. The refugees were also given clothes and a place to rest before continuing their trip to their respective destinations. "Some want to go to their family's home in Pinrang, Sindrap, Palopo, Pangkep, Makassar and so on," he said.
Refugees with worrisome conditions also arrived at the Majene District Government Command Post in the courtyard of the Great Mosque of Ilaikal Mashiir Majene. Some of them are elderly who are still traumatized by the earthquake and tsunami. "There have been thousands of refugees. Some even stayed because of fatigue," said the Head of the Protocol Subdivision of the Majene Sufyan Ilbas Regency Secretariat.
