Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com - The West Sulawesi Provincial Election Commission (KPU) targets voter participation in the 2019 General Election (Election) to exceed the National percentage of 77.60 percent.
This was stated by the Head of KPU Sulbar, Rustang in holding a voter education socialization at Pantai Indah Mamuju Hotel, Jalan Badau, Rimuku Village, Mamuju District on Monday, April 9, 2019.
According to Rustang, the percentage of voter participation in West Sulawesi exceeds the Central KPU which targets 77.5 percent of voter participation. "By that, it is very much determined how to socialize electoral education to the people of West Sulawesi," Rustang said in his remarks.
Rustang continued, so far in the preparation of the election, his party had carried out a lot of socialization which for him was the only way to increase voter participation. "But the model is different, namely by socializing to all segments of the voters," he said.
The former Election Supervisor, Mamuju Tengah Regency also hoped that the residents would not be absent from the upcoming voting. Because he said, people who did not participate in the election were not responsible for the nation's development for the next five years.
The voter education dissemination activity took place in the afternoon by presenting Members of Commission II, the People's Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), Muhammad Afzal Mahfuz who acted as the speaker, and Coordinator of the Legal and Supervision Division, KPU Sulbar, Farhanuddin.
Participants numbered approximately 160 people consisting of high school / equivalent students, students and youth organizations and the holding of elections throughout Mamuju District. The socialization was formatted in the form of question and answer and guided by the DPR RI Expert Staff, Fathan Tamam.
In his material, Muhammad Afzal reviewed law number 7 of 2007 concerning General Grants. "This is similar to the activities of the General Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of West Sulawesi which was held on Sunday, April 7 which also socialized the regulation," he said.

Muhammad Afzal emphasized that the community and the government must agree that this year's election be dignified, honest and fair. "It must be free from intimidation and any influence, including money politics. I make money politics a special concern, "he said.
Meanwhile, Farhanuddin, who was also a resource person at the outreach program, stated that there were modes in several elections, namely the voters taking pictures of the results of the election. "Shooting in a voting booth is strictly prohibited. That is the mode of money politics to prove that voters have voted for the candidate," he said.
