Gubernur Sulbar Menerima Kunjungan BKKBN Pusat di Mamuju/ Sulbarkita.com

Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- West Sulawesi Governor Ali Baal Masdar received a visit from the Deputy for Training and Development, the Central National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), Prof. Muh. Rizal Martua Damanik, in his office, Thursday, January 24, 2019.

Arrival of Muh. Rizal intends to discuss the BKKBN program in West Sulawesi which includes the development of population development, such as reducing birth rates, early childhood marriages, stunting and strengthening the formation of Family Planning (KB) Villages.

In the meeting, West Sulawesi Governor Ali Baal Masdar appreciated the various BKKBN programs carried out by West Sulawesi. "I appreciate the BKKBN program in West Sulawesi, because I see that until now the implementation has been very good," Ali Baal said.

 

According to Ali Baal, this is not only the responsibility of the BKKBN, but is a shared responsibility. Therefore, Ali Baal stressed the need for good cooperation in carrying out the BKKBN program. "Building population responsibility together, let's work together to run well," he said.

The two-year-old former regent of Polman stated that one of the efforts of the West Sulawesi Government in developing population development was by making a strategic program of Independent, Smart and Healthy (Marasa).

"The Marasa program is in line with the programs at BKKBN, where the program is expected to alleviate poverty and stunting in West Sulawesi," Ali Baal said.

Meanwhile, Muh. Rizal revealed that the West Sulawesi Government had given full attention to increasing population development in the area. Said Muh. Rizal, the attention was proven based on the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS).

"West Sulawesi managed to reduce the birth rate to 2.7 percent from the previous figure of 3.9 percent in 2012," said Muh. Rizal.

Continued Muh. Rizal, with that success, West Sulawesi contributed to suppressing birth rates on a national scale, from 2.6 percent to 2.4. "This is an achievement to be proud of, because it has decreased nationally," he said.

In addition, Muh. Rizal said, the West Sulawesi Government also paid attention to the problem of stunting, early childhood marriage and the establishment of a KB Village. "The Governor has given a good response to this, by making various strategic programs, one of which is the Marasa program," he said.

Muh. Rizal added that the program is in every province in Indonesia, which includes several coaching including family development for toddlers, teenagers and the elderly.
