Gubernur Sulbar rapat optimalisasi Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) sektor pajak daerah/ Ist

Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- The Governor of West Sulawesi, Suhardi Duka, walked out during a meeting on Optimizing Regional Original Income (PAD) for the regional tax sector, in the oval room on the 3rd floor of the West Sulawesi Governor's Office, Friday, April 25, 2025. He left the meeting because of allegations of manipulation of regional tax payments by a number of palm oil plantation companies in West Sulawesi.

"A lot of water is used but no taxes are paid. For now, I'm fixing it. And if it's not finished, we'll have legal issues," said Suhardi Duka, who is familiarly called SDK, in his press release on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

According to SDK, the company committed irregularities because it used surface water that did not match the nominal tax they paid. "The company even deliberately carried out tax avoidance practices," he said.

The member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2025 period added that there were many companies in West Sulawesi that used large amounts of surface water, but did not pay their tax obligations properly. "This is very detrimental to the region and must be fixed immediately," said SDK.
