Mateng, Sulbarkita.com -- The attorney for the candidate for Regent of Central Mamuju (Mateng), Haris Halim Sinring, Dedi Bendor, revealed strong evidence showing that his client did not have a fake certificate at the trial at the Mamuju District Court (PN), Friday, December 20 2024. This evidence is in the form of list of final student grades showing Haris Halim taking the equivalency exam at SMKN 3 Ujung Pandang, 1997/1998 academic year.
"This evidence refutes all the testimony of witnesses presented by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) at trial," said Dedi in his written statement on Saturday 21 December 2024 to journalists.
Haris Halim Sinring is a Candidate for Regent (Cabup) of Central Mamuju paired with I Komang Budi Arcana. He lost to pair number 1, Arsal Aras and Askary, because they only received 4,212 votes. Meanwhile, Arsal and Askary received 38,343 votes.
Later, Haris stumbled upon a case of alleged fake diplomas which dragged him into the custody of the Mamuju District Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutors suspect that Haris used someone else's diploma from SMK Negeri 3 Ujung Pandang when he was a candidate for Regent (Cabup) of Central Mamuju in the regional elections on 27 November.
According to Dedi, based on this new evidence, his client took the equivalency exam at SMKN 3 Ujung Pandang on the recommendation of SMK Ranggong Dg. Ramo, Takalar Regency. The equivalency exam at that time was equivalent to the current package C, with the place being held at SMKN 3 Ujung Pandang.
Dedi continued, the evidence showed that Haris was a recommended student at Ranggong Dg Vocational School. Ramo to take the equality exam. So, automatically, Haris' name is not included in the list of names of students who attended school from grade 1 to graduation at SMKN 3 Ujung Pandang. This list of names is evidence of the allegations of fake diplomas submitted by the Prosecutor's Office.
"Our client is not a student who attended school from first grade to graduation, but only took the equivalency exam there," he said.
There is a Typex Eraser Mark on the Witness Certificate Replacement
Dedi said that the suspicion of Haris Halim's fake diploma arose because there was an administrative error on the part of the school which resulted in the registration number between his client's diploma and that of Muhammad Yunus, the witness presented by the prosecutor at the trial, having the same number.
"Muhammad Yunus was also unable to show his original diploma at the trial because he had lost it," said Dedi.
Dedi said Yusuf did show a replacement certificate at the trial. However, there are traces of typex on the student's identification number. "So the truth is questionable," he said.
Therefore, Dedi hopes that the authorities will clear his client's name for the alleged violations he has been accused of. "Now it is clear that our client has been proven not guilty as charged by the prosecutor. "Our clients must be freed and their dignity restored," added Dedi.
