Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- Deputy Regent of Mamuju, Irwan Satya Putra Pababari stated that he is likely to be a candidate for the Mamuju Regent in the upcoming 2020 Regional Head Election (Pemilukada). He said, this could have happened if he had the support of the community.
"It depends on the wishes of the people, if they want to go forward as regents, why not," he told Sulbarkita.com at his residence, Jalan Ahmad Kirang, Rimuku Village, Mamuju District, Tuesday, July 2, 2019.
Therefore, Irwan who is currently accompanying Habsi Wahid at the peak of the Mamuju Regency government will conduct an electability survey of him facing the upcoming Mamuju Election. "We will conduct a survey first," he said.
Nevertheless, he is also ready if the party supporting him does not provide a mandate for him to fight as a candidate for regent. "We see conditions. We could take zero position, or zero one position," he said.
The Hanura Party politician hopes that the upcoming Mamuju regional election will not only be a strategy and fight for power, but also an idea about the future development of Mamuju. "We must first solidify ourselves before expressing our attitude," said Irwan.
Habsi and Irwan were pairs of Regents and Deputy Regents of Mamuju who advanced in the simultaneous regional elections on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. The couple managed to win as 68.249 votes or 56.25 percent.
Both were later appointed by the Governor of West Sulawesi, Anwar Adnan Saleh to lead Bumi Manakarra for the period of 2016 until 2021 on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
