Polman, Sulbarkita.com -- The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Team of the Republic of Indonesia monitored the evaluation of an integrated corruption eradication program within the scope of the Polewali Mandar Regency Government, Tuesday, 3 September 2019.
In their trip, the KPK team found data on the amount of funds deposited in government treasury in an unfit category in the Polman Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda). "The management of tax deposits is also still being deposited in cash," said West Kalimantan KPK Representative, Mohammad Jhanattan.
According to Jhanattan, local tax collection patterns are not in accordance with applicable standards. He said, leakage of monthly income from each tax object often occurs because unscrupulous State Civil Apparatus (ASN) is not optimal in making deposits. "Bapenda's revenue picking test is not maximized," said Jhanattan.
He hoped the certification of regional assets in Polman such as the horse racing field case could involve the prosecutor's office. "There are still 708 assets that have not been certified, we are targeting by the end of 2019, at least above 50 percent of assets will be certified. If there are local tax arrears, it could involve the prosecutor's office, "said Jhanattan.
The Head of the Prevention Supervision Team for Region VIII Coordinators, South Sulawesi, West and Papua, the KPK, Adliansyah Malik Nasution, appealed to the Polman government so that in the process of ASN rotation or mutation, bribes would not occur. "The majority of cases handled by the KPK are bribery and the procurement of goods and services," he said.
Adliansyah said that assets in Polman had been arranged more than 50 percent, although there were still many arrears on the Tax Vehicle Service (Randis) and unscrupulous personnel who brought assets from the old office to the new office.
"If there is a Head of Service in charge of the two Randis including the office operational vehicles brought home, give him a warning letter. If it is not heeded, please submit it to the Compensation Claims (TGR) hearing, "Adliansyah said.
The Head of Bapenda Polman, Budi Utomo, revealed that the KPK's findings would be followed up by conducting dissemination to taxpayers and explaining to them that the tax collected was not their right but the government's right.
"I admit that the staff's performance has not been optimal in billing taxpayers. This staff's performance must be faster," he said.
