Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- Who doesn't know Tetu? the culinary that many people of West Sulawesi have been promoting has become a favorite in every family event, even a mandatory snack in government activities.

Therefore, the Generation of Pesona Indonesia (GenPI) organization of West Sulawesi Province wants to promote culinary made from rice and palm sugar to the wider community as Sulbar's special food.

But in the internal organization of the community formed by the Ministry of Tourism questioning the culinary because they do not have research.

According to the Chairman of the West Sulawesi GenPI, Muh. Saleh, his party did not find strong evidence that stated that Tetu was a typical West Sulawesi food.

"We want to promote Tetu as a typical culinary culinary, but are constrained because there is no research on Tetu," he told Sulbarkita.com at Pantai Indah Hotel, Jalan Badau, Rimuku Village, Mamuju District, Monday, July 1, 2019.

Saleh also hopes that the government proposes to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) regarding the determination of Tetu as a culinary specialty in West Sulawesi. "If it is culinary from West Sulawesi, it must be immediately proposed that we have a basis to promote the culinary," he said.

Head of the West Sulawesi Provincial Tourism Office, Farid Wajdi, said that to establish Tetu as a typical food must be through an academic process such as researching the culinary ingredients. "You have to analyze the culinary ingredients, there is no way that the area that does not have the ingredients claims that Tetu is a typical culinary," he told Sulbarkita.com in his office.

Sulbarkita.com tries to find data in the service related to the typical food license. But said one of the staff at the West Sulawesi Tourism Office, licensing typical food had never been in West Sulawesi. This will be a problem in the future because anyone can claim food that was consumed by the West Sulawesi people in the past.
